Sea bottom at site measured by plane

Various studies will be conducted on Fennovoima’s Hanhikivenniemi site in Pyhäjoki during summer.

In the beginning of June, sea bottom will be researched if weather conditions are fine. These so called Lidar studies will be made from an airplane right outside of the Hanhikivenniemi site.

The results will add knowledge on the information regarding geological structures on 0-10 meter deep areas reaching 25 kilometers from Hanhikivenniemi.

The study will be conducted by Airborne Hydrography. During May some support measurements were made. In addition gps trackers are set on the area for the time of the flights. These support functions are done by the West Finland unit of The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).
